This night was pure floral exhuberance.

We teamed up with Provisions for this event. Provisions is a non-profit organization focused on bringing the NYC community together through intimate culinary and art-focused gatherings and conversations (we’re definitely cut from the same cloth) and is led up by Nikki Krecicki. Nikki also graciously hosted this event in her beautiful Williamsburg apartment.

Together we hosted a hands on floral workshop spearheaded by creative genius Molly Ford of Flowers by Ford.

Attendees learned how to arrange a modern and impactful arrangements. We provided everyone with a vessel and the seasonal blooms for you to them to create with.

While everyone learned from one of Brooklyn’s finest florists, they sipped on paloma cocktails that featured handcrafted Desert Flora kombucha, a flavor specially made for this event, by Heirloom and Madre Mezcal. It was a winning combo. A major shout out to Josh McLeod, founder and owner of Heirloom, who was our designated mixologist. To accompany drinks, each guest received their own personal picnic box curated by Samantha Rees of By Saison, filled with cheese, crackers, fruits and sweet treats. Not only were they gorgeous with each snack thoughtfully placed and boxes wrapped in pastel colored pieces of cotton textiles, but delicious.

How did Create Dinners contribute to this event, you ask?

We asked everyone to bring something (bonus points if it was handmade) that would tell us about them. Several people brought pieces of jewelry, others brought artwork and trinkets from their countries of origin — the beauty of NYC is that so many people aren’t from here. It was really special. We also wrote conversation questions that were placed on tables and after floral creations had been made, we prompted everyone to spend the last 20 minutes of our time together going around their tables and answering whichever questions they fancied. To no one’s surprise, everyone lingered well past 20 minutes talking and connecting. We didn’t want it to end.

The most important part of this event is that we got to give a portion of each ticket sale to benefit The Trevor Project which provides support and resources to LGBTQ+ youth who are struggling with suicide.

We’re constantly being reminded, especially in this last year and a half, that it’s so important to give when you can no matter how big or small the contribution may be.
