As a Texas native, I grew up spoiled by southern hospitality and good food.
In high school, I told a mentor that I dreamed of having my own place so I could be more hospitable. Though it would be a long while before I'd call a place my own, she gave me a set of four plates from Anthropologie, encouraging me to hang onto my dream. I still have those plates, and every time I use them, I'm reminded of how important it is to intentionally gather around the table to share a meal with people - acquaintances, ones I know well, friends of ones I know well, neighbors, complete strangers, and family.
My greatest hope for Create Dinners is that people leave to go home for the night and feel blessed, more important than they did when they arrived, and are encouraged and excited to keep creating. (I also hope they feel full.) I live for the day when we're blogging others' content because they attended or heard or saw what we're doing and felt empowered to invite fellow creatives into their own homes and host a Create Dinner.
Today I live in Los Angeles with my husband Nick and our dog Otter, working as a Creative Producer at digital marketing agency by day, and Wedding and Lifestyle Photographer by night. Somewhere in between, I run my personal blog katemoranedwards.com and Create Dinners.
